Intersport International Youth Sport Festival
Last was the 13th time that the Intersport International Youth Sport Festival has been organised in Kaposvár, which for the last five years has not only invited football players but also enthusiasts of basketball, handball and volleyball. Nearly five thousand youth and sportsmen from all over the world competed against each other at this event between 4th and 10th July, 2019.
The main purpose of the Intersport International Youth Sport Festival is to connect children, adults, teams and countries through football. In the last ten years this goal has definitely been achieved, which is reflected by the ever-growing number of teams and countries taking part in the event from year to year. The success of the festival is also confirmed by the fact that from Australia to Chile, 2176 teams from 55 countries and six continents participated in the event between 2005 and 2016.

It is important to the organisers that participants have the experience of a lifetime and, at the same time, they are able to boost the popularity of football. Every year the event attracts thousands of spectators inspiring them to be more active whether they are young or of an older age.
Programmes take place not only on the sport fields but also in the whole town. During this time the main square of Kaposvár turns into a festival-village! It provides children with various opportunities to have fun, where they can test their skills and knowledge against each other outside the sport fields.

The first day of the festival is always special: in the evening after the matches the teams gather in the main square of the town and in procession they make their way to the stadium beeping their horns and beating their drums as they arrive at the opening ceremony.
You don’t have to do without well-earned rest on the following days either. Participants are invited to concerts and discos in the evenings after the matches. Restaurants and cafés provide an opportunity for adults to relax in the centre of the town when evening falls.

The closing night has a real festival atmosphere. Everyone is able to celebrate freely, and the memories of the foam-party and mega-disco is something all participants will cherish for a long time.
The Flower Bath aqua park in Kaposvár is open to visitors during the whole event. All participants receive a single ticket to the aqua park so that they can enjoy a wide range of water related experiences in their free time.
